Hero MotoCorp aims to disrupt the electric two-wheeler segment in India with the launch of two highly affordable products by July 2025.
We earlier told you that TVS is planning to launch a budget-friendly electric scooter during the festive season in Oct-Nov 2025 in the Indian market. Now, it has been learnt that Hero MotoCorp is also set to join this bandwagon by introducing a couple of highly affordable e-scooters under its Vida sub-brand in India. A few media reports claim that the two upcoming Hero Vida electric scooters are likely to go on sale in July 2025 across the country. The Jaipur-based two-wheeler brand aims to increase its market share in the e2w segment.
The top brass at Hero confirmed this development and stated that two new electric scooters with price below Rs 70,000 are being readied for a market launch around July 2025. “We are planning two new affordable products in the first half, most likely in July. That will help us accelerate our growth and gain market share,” Hero MotoCorp’s senior management told investors.

Hero MotoCorp currently retails Vida V2 in the Indian market in three trims namely V2 Pro, V2 Plus, and V2 Lite while priced between Rs 74,000 – 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). “Very shortly, we will be launching an upgrade, which will be far better in terms of value proposition to customers, addressing basic customer requirements across the segment. It will be launched in July,” the management further added.
A report from Autocar Professional earlier this year stated that a new electric scooter under development has been internally codenamed as ACPD. The company intends to price it equivalent to its ICE counterparts. Presently, Hero MotoCorp rolls out nearly 7000 units on e-scooters on an average monthly basis and with the launch of two new EVs, it is planning to produce somewhere around 13,000-15,000 units.

The home-grown automaker had unveiled Vida Z last year at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. It is expected to launch towards the end of 2025 in the domestic market. It will also be sold in overseas markets such as the UK and Europe. In FY25, the company had retailed a total of 48,674 units as compared to the 17,720 units sold during FY24.
Hero MotoCorp has extensive sales plans with respect to the electric two-wheeler segment. It has set a monthly sales target of 25,000-30,000 units in the domestic market from the coming couple of years. Though the numbers appear to be less realistic and more optimistic, only time will tell whether Hero is able to even inch closer to this target.
