All this while when everyone was focused on Bajaj launching their first ever semi-faired Discover 150F (or F150), a surprise (of sorts) has just been revealed – Discover 150S!
These pics shared by Indianautosblog.com reveal that before the faired 150cc Discover, Bajaj will launch its naked sibling Discover 150S which has already reached dealerships.
Bookings have also opened at Rs 500 and the motorcycle will be delivered after its officially launched in the country very soon. Quite naturally, this will be a 150cc engine and reports predict that this will be a new 4-valve engine and NOT a detuned version of the existing Pulsar 150’s motor.
Power and torque specs are unknown at this point of time but expect them to be just a wee bit lesser than Pulsar’s. It gets a 5-speed gearbox and looks very similar to the Discover 125ST which has been reportedly axed from the lineup. The bigger 150cc Discover 150S gets a broader 100/90 17 inch rear tyre.
It also gets the monoshock absorber and an all-black theme. Interestingly, Discover 150S will also get a drum brake variant in addition to the regular disc brake variant. The same motorcycle is the one which we expect to be available as Discover 150F with an added semi fairing, the one which has been spied earlier.
Considering that the current flagship Discover 125T sells at Rs 54,691 and Pulsar 135LS at Rs 59,291 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi), we can safely assume Bajaj to place the new Discover 150S somewhere in between, in turn making it the cheapest 150cc motorcycle available in the market.
