Bajaj Auto sent ripples across the Indian motorcycling market when it announced a partnership with Britain’s Triumph. What shocked everyone was that the duo will start joint operations with a motorcycle that will be priced under Rs 2 lakh and that is an official word; no speculation! What is even more interesting is the fact that it will be sold as a Triumph!

This motorcycle was initially scheduled to be launched in 2022. However, it looks like there might be a delay in it. The Managing Director of Bajaj Auto – Rajiv Bajaj was recently caught up in an interview with an auto-portal wherein he spoke about various topics. During the interview, he also talked about the plans of launching Triumph Motorcycles.

He said that the upcoming Triumph Motorcycles will be manufactured by Bajaj, who will have the responsibility not just for India but for some export markets as well, including the subcontinent and some markets in Africa, Asia, etc.

Now, Mr. Bajaj says that while they are trying to keep up with the project, it might slip to 2023. So, if you are waiting to see the entry level locally produced Triumph motorcycles, you may have to wait a little longer.
