Anybody who has been waiting for the new entry-level cruiser from the brand Harley Davidson (HD), your wait is coming to an end! Apparently, the baby cruiser about which the auto journos are deliberating is, indeed, getting unveiled at the the Milan Motor Show starting from tomorrow to the media.
In a revelation, Motociclismo.it has managed to get a snapshot of what looks like a format invitation. And this is where it all gets revealed. The Low cost For-India motorcycles will be called as STREET 750 & 500. This also reveals that there are not one but two different motorcycles. Their names also give us a hint about their engine capacities.
Sources close to HD India are not yet coming out in open with any more specifications or details than what’s already available in the public domain.
Obviously, the need for a pocket prowler was felt by HD in the newer markets like India because of the steep price tag for the existing line-up from HD, which makes them out of reach for most of the enthusiasts and more importantly its the smaller motorcycles that are gaining more interest all around the world. The lack of cruising culture in such emerging markets was another noticeable challenge.
The new lower capacity HDs will definitely bring down the price and will give more among us the experience of owning a bike from this renowned brand.

Meanwhile going by the few spy shots available online, the new bike has the undeniable Harley Davidson looks. The V-twin, the resulting power and torque and the relaxed riding posture should make it into a delicious little mile muncher.
The prudent thing for Harley Davidson India to do is to build it completely in India to bring the price down as low as possible. The 500 CC V-twin is good for a start and the cruising community in India, used to the venerable Enfield Bullet, is all wide eyed over the spy photographs and the questions on their minds is how soon and for how much, Harley?
