Royal Enfield Showcases Café Racer Concept at the Auto Expo 2012

by Deepak on January 5, 2012

Royal Enfield showcased this concept bike in the 2010 Auto Expo and we see it showcased again. There is no news regarding its potential launch in India.

According to wikipedia, Café racer Means:

A café racer is a type of motorcycle as well as a type of motorcyclist. Both meanings have their roots in the 1960s British counterculture group the Rockers, or the Ton-up boys, although they were also common in Italy, Germany, and other European countries. In Italy, the term refers to the specific motorcycles that were and are used for short, sharp speed trips from one coffee bar to another.

Looks cool. But the position of the mirrors are kind of pathetic. RE must really do something to meet up the demands. I hear the waiting time of certain of their models is almost a year.

+1 with Shadow comments on mirrors.

As an ex owner and thereafter perpetual hater of Royal Enfield Bullets, I must say I’m impressed with this Concept by Royal Enfield.

It looks great, but those looks are always deceiving!
Lovely exhaust(Is that titanium metal?), and beautiful tyres, the rear end is fantastic.

whats the price of it?

Jess January 13, 2012 at 12:36 pm

Cafe-racer sitting position is like that of a sports bike Karthik. I don’t think your ball’d hurt riding a R15 or even and R1, so don’t worry about it. Apparently the concept of this design isn’t well known in India.
Pawan, sure, nobody stopped girls from riding sexy bikes :)

I am 5’3 but crazy about this bike. Donno if my feet would touch the ground or if my hands can get the handle sitting through the saddle. But this is one hell of a bike. Would love to drive it
