KTM 125 Duke To Hit Indian Market

by Deepak on September 14, 2010

KTM motorcycle AG, an Australian motorcycle company, is soon to launch all new KTM Duke 125 in India with the help of successful and prospering Bajaj Automobiles. The joint venture of KTM-Bajaj is all set to begin the production of the new KTM 125 Duke and it will be manufactured in Bajaj’s chakan plant located at Pune. Some sources close to the deal depict the price to be around 1 lakh rupees, though no official conformation is received.

As far as the features are concerned, KTM 125 Duke sports a liquid cooled, 4 stroke engine, single cylinder, fuel injection and DOHC. The new bike is sure shot a power baby as it can produce an awesome power output of 15 to 17 Bhp. Moreover KTM Duke has a fuel efficient engine that can deliver an efficient mileage of more than 30 kmpl. As far as the looks go, KTM 125 Duke looks awesome and one can easily get attracted just on the first glance of the bike. It is classy, muscular, efficient and powerful just as men want their bikes to be.

Apart from the killer looks the bike has a good capacity tank of 13 litre and 2.5 liter is for reserves, with such a sprawling capacity you will never run out of fuel. Yet to be launched Indian version of the bike comes with a facility to replace engine with a higher capacity and powerful one, this is an added advantage if you are not satisfied with the power of the bike. Though not much information is available regarding the bike, bikers can expect the bike to support electric start and rear disk brakes. Overall the bike looks good and worth the wait. Its muscular looks and fuel efficiency are must to look forward to.

Dear All,

It’s not joint venture but over a time bajaj has acquired 35.67% stake in company. The Duke and Race are two bikes jointly developed by Bajaj & KTM. It will be a new platform for bike just like yamaha vi-xion. First it will be launched in Europe and 6 month later it will be launched in India.

KTM is an Austrian Motorcycle company not Australian. Please correct that mistake. The bike looks hot, hope it is within 1 lakh rupees.

Hi India,- I´m a german who rode bikes throughout India for many thousand kilometers during holidays in the last 17 years and I dreamt since ages for something like a KTM to launch the indian market…, but why – on earth – not an enduro bike aswell ??? This company has so much experience in that field and an enduro is by far the better performer for more than 90% of all indian roads!!! Instead of suffering through the holes (painful wrist & dead slow required speed), one just flies over them as if the road was perfect – wake up you managers and dont miss the opinion to make maaany customers very…happy!!! your biker-friend Reiner
