A few weeks back I posted a review of the New CBZ Xtreme with ATFT engine. The pictures that I posted in that review were of the orange coloured CBZ which looked really weird. The black with red colour combo looks smart and if you haven’t had a chance to see them, here they are. Photos courtesy of Koustubh Kkulkarni.

Wow
Atlast som1 appreciated the new CBZ-X. Back in Nov’08 when I went to HH showroom to have a look at Hunk and was considering buying the bike, CBZ-X was being rolled into the showroom. I just fell for the black-red bike with rear wheel in red and bought it in the following week.
Trust me guyzz for a week or more from the day I bought the bike every time I stopped at signals every1 around just looked at admiration to my new bike.
Every1 here are more updated regarding the bike specs than me and i don’t wanna enter into any chit chats regarding that but but of the CBZ released till date dis 1 is the hottest of them all.
P.S. I meant mine bike, with red alloy rear wheel

I still feel think the bike looks kinda wacky. Could be better if Hero Honda gave it a more sleeker colour other than bright red.

I have took my pal’s CBZ ATFT for about 40 kms ride in B’lore city as my bike (Fiero) was given for service. This bike is really stunning in all aspects, I could not find out a single drawback, even stying is excellent, really looks good in flesh. In most situations in city drive one could lock 3rd gear for 90% of the ride as one can do 20 to 60 kmph in this gear and feels smooth. Power delivery is simply amazing. My pal recently completed 1200kms tour of south India after 2nd free service and he enjoyed every moment of th trip.

I think CBZ ATFT is good interms of performance. But HHML should use the colour combination with some thought.
Murugan on April 8, 2009 at 10:44 pm
CBZ Xtreme has styling issues,
1. Muffler should have been covered with chrome cylinder.
2. Muffler is very lengthy
3. Color combination sucks
4. Front fairing coud have been bigger by 20%.
Otherwise the bike is very good and gives lot of confidence with exellent road manners. It’s fast too and can sprint like devil in city traffic.

Hello all,
I have a bike (Ambition old model). I bought it in July 2003.
Now a black smoke is coming out from my silencer pipe. So my garage owner told me to have to work in engine.
But I traveled only 26,000 KM in 5 years and I handle it own.
Any way I am thinking to shift from ambition to any good bikes.
My choice is Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme or Hunk (both are Black and red combination).
But anyone guide me which is better between these two?
Thanks,
Ujjwal

Bikes which I sort out are

Which one to select?????
Rahul@durgapur on April 20, 2009 at 3:01 am
@Ujjwal Das
The only difference between Hunk and CBZ X is the looks.
Buy the one that looks better
acording to u. They both have
same engine. Comfort is also
more or less SAME.
Mani on April 29, 2009 at 8:30 pm
Go for Hunk as it’s 2,000 bucks cheaper and it’s lot stylish than Xtreme. Xtreme is also an excellent m/c, that xtra 2,000 is worth paying.

Bharadwaj on May 24, 2009 at 12:59 am
hey anyone out there please tell me are there any rev limiters installed in extreme or hunk?
i have driven both these bikes to max limit but they never reach the redline 9000rpm but maintain constant speed after 8500 rpm. i wonder how some people cross the redline on their bikes?

When I was planning to buy a new bike by replacing my HH Splendor, I visited the showrooms of Hero Honda, Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsar, Suzuki, Yamaha for 150 CC bike. According to me, HH CBZ Extreme is one of the best choice out of the above mentioned all makes. I am decided to purchase CBZ within a week.
Shubh on June 10, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Mileage of CBZ X is around 38-45 KMPL. The higher end is achived when the bike is driven within 60KMPH. Frequent driving at 80+KMPH will yeild at the lower end.
Top speed is around 115-117, am not sure bcoz I was enjoying the moment at AJC Bose Rd. flyover, d best place to test top speed of any bike in Kolkata.
Irusath on June 13, 2009 at 3:04 pm
My Self i like CBZ X treme, only one confution why not gas resovoyer suspension for the rear sock absober for CBZ xtreme.
hussain on June 19, 2009 at 6:33 pm
hey i have new cbz xtreme the top speed i have riden is 120 but my frnd hits on the same bike up to 140 speed it is quit good in performance but it dosen’t hae a spoorty look as like karizma, cbf stunner fi,rtr, yamaha etc. so pls hh try to take out the cbz in total sports look with big doom and engine cover bcoz the cbz name itself is very famous to the students the name cbz is enough to college students.so pls hhonda don,t try on karisma for sports lok pls try it on only cbz.bcoz no one and no bike can hit the name cbz so pls h honda try to understand our prblm we need more models in cbz only not in karisma bcoz it is a very foolish byk as compared to cbz.

Hello Hero honda one thing I should want to ask you why should n’t they didn’t Make the colour of silver tail in Black CBZ extreme like a red cbz extreme… I think so, It will be a good look silver tail in black cbz.. So please kindly intro the silver tail in black CBZ Extreme..
Shubh on July 6, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Hey James…
I think the CBZ 2008 versions were all in silver tail….Itz individual pref, but I personally like this red & black combination…this looks very hot indeed.
TO all (Spec. HH):
In my opinion, the areas that need immediate attention…
1. **Gas rear shockers should be added immediately.**
2. Muzzle should be shotter & trendy (say like FZ series)
3. Should yeild better mileage or engine power should be
increased(reverted back to 158cc as was in introductory
version).Bcoz a 149cc bike yeilding mileage of max 40-45,
that too if driven with utter caution can not survive just
in the brand name in a cost concious country like ourzz.
4. Display should have the mixture of digital & analog
combination.
In regards to addition of body parts for sporty looks like karizma/stunner, I prefer CBZ as it is bcoz it has decent looks that can make rider proud anywhere. Making too much sporty is ok with teenz/clg goers but CBZ might lose out with itz midage & corporate buyers as they donot prefer too sporty bikes.
P.S…All body parts upgradation could be added to good 4 nothing HH Achiver–so that it can achive a decent sale figure in the bikes market

Hi,
I am proud to be owner of the Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme.
I feel CBZ is the best bike in the range of 150 cc bikes,
Everyone compares this with Apache,Pulsar,Yahama FZ.
I had driven Apache,Pulsar, not tried Yahama FZ.
Best thing I like about CBZ
1.The body which is stylish and seating is comfortable when compared to Apache.
2.It gives me around 52 to 54 in city, 55 in long ride.
3.Maintanance is too low then Pulsar.
4.Speed it touches 115 km/hr.
5.You have better resale to this one when compared to any other bike.
No doubt Hero Honda bike is Desh Khi Dhadkan………

Hi dudes,
I’m one of the proud owners of this legendary twin The CBZ X-Treme 2008 model. I find this bike a fantastic tourer especially for long journeys. I have traveled to my nearby hill station ooty thrice on my bike.
Its a manly creature. It never let me feel tired or so.
The only alteration I have made on my bike is change of its handlebar. I have replaced it with the one which is found on the legendary CBZ old model.
The fact behind that is, it has a handlebar weight which reduces vibrations transferring to the hand at higher revs. And also it helps in more upright as well as sportier riding stance.
I have clocked my bike till 120 Kmph. Wow…. it was an amazing experience for me.
Thanks to Hero Honda for its top-class vibration isolation.
Every time i open up the throttle, it revs gentle and handles better in stance. Thanks for butter smooth Honda Engine.
Gear shifting is slick n smooth.
Cornering is superb and braking is effective but still needs Brembo Discs found on the legendary version of the CBZ.
As far as mileage is concerned my bike gives me an extra-ordinary mileage of 53 kmpl on city and 58 kmpl on highways. Overall an average mileage of 55 kmpl is guarenteed(subjected to riders handling of the bike).
I hope you all have enjoyed my review.

Hi guys,
For all of you guys who are confuse for buying a new bike and also confusing between hunk, unicorn or CBZ X-treme.
At first I also confuse before ride CBZ X-Treme. because My older brother use Honda Unicorn and My uncle use Hero Honda Hunk. But I want something better then that’s. Then I find CBZ X-treme. now my brother and uncle often use my bike although they have good bike. You know why? Because CBZ X-treme is best for travelling. I enjoy my every rides. It’s true that CBZ X-treme is the most pashionable and easy controlled bike. I feel proud when my brother and uncle take my bike for ride by leaveing their own bike. And when I go to my office every one looking me for at least one moment……
So. decision is yours……………
I am not Indian. I am bangladeshi………
Aminul Islam on February 17, 2010 at 3:00 pm
Hi Vijay,
It’s for you….
Answare for all of your question is CBZ X-treme.
Because I have riding experience with 150cc (Unicorn, Hunk, Pulsar), Discovery 135cc, 100cc (Splender+, Walton) & 80cc (Loncin, Dying) etc. All of bikes belongs in my relatives and I can use any time when I wish.. But I like my CBZ X-treme (Black) which is bought by myself. (It’s my own pashion)
Be cool……………………..

karthikeyan on March 4, 2010 at 6:56 pm
hi all!
for the past 3~4 months i have been making analysis on 150 cc bikes to be bought, which i like to share here…
first i thought of getting fazer bt the bike is costly(82k),second seat is short, mileage is 40kmpl,height is smaller.
personally i didnt like apache and pulsar.
suzuki gs 150r —- suzuki not so familiar in India for bike.
finally cbz xtreme or unicorn.
I am just 22 yrs old. so i mind look of ma bike.
* mileage in unicorn is 50 kmpl. u cn expect 45kmpl in cbzxtreme.
* engine is smoother in unicorn(i hve ride),i mean comparitively.
* both are almost same in hiegth and length
so all together … both bike are same since look cbz xtreme is a modern bike, but except for the large tank the unicorn is just a performance item….
bike is more than a travelling vechile…..
so finall choice of mine is cbz xtreme…
i will report here after 30 days from now i.e once i get ma bike….
c u soon…
