Yamaha to Launch New 2-Wheeler on Nov 11 – What it Could be?

Yamaha will launch a new model on Nov 11 in the Indian market and the suspense around it is making waves in the two-wheeler industry

Yamaha India has confirmed the launch of a new two-wheeler on Nov 11, 2025 in the country. However, the suspense over the new model is not getting over anytime soon as multiple assumptions are being made by auto pundits. While a section of media claims it to be the XSR 155, a few reports indicate that it could be the WR155 R dual-sport motorcycle as it has been spotted undisguised on Bengaluru roads. It wouldn’t be surprising if Yamaha decides to unveil its first-ever electric scooter, codenamed as RY01, for the Indian market on Nov 11.

Yamaha XSR 155 and Yamaha WR155 R Debut on Nov 11?

The Japanese two-wheeler brand could launch both the WR155 R and XSR 155 next month. While the XSR 155 is a neo-retro motorcycle designed and developed for urban commuting, the WR155 R is a dual-sport bike meant for off-roading as well as city commuting. The former, if launched, will lock horns with TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in the domestic market while the latter will rival Hero Xpulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX 230.

Some of the notable features onboard Yamaha XSR 155 are circular LED headlamp, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, LED turn indicators, sleek rear profile, flat single-piece seat, 17-inch wheels, and disc brakes at both the ends. On the other hand, Yamaha WR155 R comes loaded with several exciting features in the form of 21-inch front wheel, 245 mm ground clearance, long-travel suspension setup, high-mounted exhaust pipe, and dual-channel ABS among others.

Both the upcoming Yamaha bikes in India would be equipped with a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which develops max power of 16.6 bhp at 10000 rpm and highest torque of 14.3 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission as standard. Both the motorcycles are expected to be priced below Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) in our market.

Could it be the Yamaha RY01 Electric Scooter?

Coming to Yamaha RY01 electric scooter, it is based on River Indie which is also touted as the ‘SUV of Scooters’. It will be locally produced at River’s facility in Bengaluru. Although based on the Indie, Yamaha RY01 will have its own identity in terms of styling and features. The cycle parts and 4 kWh battery pack will be borrowed from the Indie with a range of approx 100 km on a single charge.

Yamaha Nmax 155 Scooter Launch Possible?

Meanwhile, recently a few media outlets also reported that Yamaha might launch the Nmax 155 maxi-styled scooter on Nov 11 in India. Though the high-performance scooter was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year in Jan, we doubt that Yamaha will launch it in our market as it already retails the Aerox 155 in this segment. Since there is confirmation from the brand yet, let’s wait till Nov 11 and see what unfolds on that particular day.
