Yamaha Teases TMax Maxi Scooter Facelift for EICMA

Yamaha has started teasing their upcoming product for EICMA. This time though it is about a scooter! In a teaser video uploaded by Yamaha’s European division, the Japanese manufacturer will be showcasing a possible TMax maxi-scooter.

The present generation TMax is powered by a 530 cc liquid cooled in-line twin cylinder which is Euro 3 compliant. While the updated product will be powered by the same mill, there is a possibility that the output may be altered slightly. Needless to say, it will also have to be Euro4 compliant. The numbers right now stand at 45.2 bhp of maximum power and 52.3 Nm of peak torque.

In the brief glimpses offered by the teaser video, the scooter shows off new headlight design which appears to be rounded. The TMax also gains two LED daytime running lights. ABS too can be expected to be standard. The grab rail too has been brought under the knife.

The TMax is Yamaha’s flagship scooter in many markets and an update will certainly boost volumes. It also gets several premium features like a lightweight aluminium chassis, 41 mm upside down front forks and disc brakes all around. While an Indian launch seems like a far off dream, wouldn’t it be lovely to have a scooter like this in our market?
