The new price of Yamaha R3 in India will be Rs 3.60 lakh while Yamaha MT-03 is priced at Rs 3.50 lakh after revision
Yamaha India has slashed the price of R3 and MT-03 motorcycles by up to Rs 1.10 lakh in the country. Yamaha R3’s new price in India will be Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while Yamaha MT-03 price in India will be Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated prices will be effective from Feb 1, 2025 in the domestic market. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is also celebrating 10 years of the R3 internationally. The latest version of Yamaha R3 was launched in Dec 2023 in our country at Rs 4.65 lakh (ex-showroom) while the MT-03 was priced at Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha R3 is available in two colourways namely Icon Blue and Yamaha Black while the MT-03 is offered in Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black paint schemes. The R3 takes design inspiration from Yamaha’s iconic YZR-M1 as it gets 50/50 weight distribution. The light-weight diamond frame is suspended by upside down (USD) front forks and a mono-cross rear unit.

As for features, the R3 comes equipped with all-LED lighting (headlight, tail-light and turn indicators), multi-function LCD instrument cluster, cast aluminium handlebar, tall windscreen, and dual-channel ABS. It is brought in India as a Completely Built-up (CBU) unit while sold exclusively via the select Blue Square Yamaha dealerships.
Talking about Yamaha MT-03, it flaunts the naked streetfighter design with twin-eye positioned LED headlights, upright riding position and mass-forward bodywork. It shares the suspension setup and the 573 mm long swingarm with the R3 while the stopping power comes from 298 mm disc at front and 220 mm disc at rear. A dual-channel ABS is offered as a standard safety feature. The latest version of the bike is developed under the concept of “MTs that stimulate your Pride – The Evolution to a True MT Sibling”

Mechanically, both the motorcycles are powered by a 321 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which develops top power of 41 bhp at 10,750 rpm and highest torque of 29.5 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper & assist clutch. The fuel tank capacity of both the bikes is 14 litres while the R3 is nearly 2 kg heavier than the MT-03 due to the fairing and other styling elements.
Yamaha R3 challenges the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 400, TVS Apache RTR 310 and KTM RC 390 in the Indian market. On the other hand, Yamaha MT-03 rivals KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R and TVS Apache RR 310 in our country.
