Yamaha R15, MT-15 V2 MotoGP Editions Launched in India

Besides introducing the MotoGP Editions of the R15 and MT-15 V2, Yamaha has also launched new colours for the FZ-S range of motorcycles

Yamaha India has launched the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition of the R15 V4 and MT-15 Version 2.0 at price points of Rs 1.76 lakh and Rs 1.77 lakh, respectively, in the country. Both the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Delhi. Presented in Yamaha’s signature MotoGP-inspired livery, the MotoGP Editions get race-bred graphics and premium styling elements across the tank shrouds, fuel tank and side panels. In addition, the company has introduced new colour options for the FZ-S Fi hybrid and FZ-S Fi in India.

First things first, the 2026 Yamaha FZ-S Fi hybrid will now be available in an all-new Ice Storm colour scheme. The existing Matte Black paint shade has been updated with sporty graphics. On the other hand, the 2026 Yamaha FZ-S Fi receives a new Metallic Black colour option while the Ice Fluo-Vermillion has been carried over from the existing model line-up.

Yamaha R15 directly rivals Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Hero Karizma XMR 210 and KTM RC 160 in the Indian market. Flaunting a R1 inspired design, the fully-faired sportsbike comes loaded with premium features such as TFT instrument panel, traction control, dual-channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, quick shifter on select variants and USD front forks.

It sits on a deltabox frame while equipped with an aluminum swingarm. The rear suspension duties are helmed by link-type monoshock absorbers. The R15 tips the weighing scale at merely 141 kg. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres. The R15 continues to be the most popular sportsbike in its segment in India with over 1 million units manufactured in the country.

At the heart, Yamaha R15 houses a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which comes with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology. It generates max power of 18.1 bhp and peak torque of 14.2 Nm while paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Apart from the MotoGP inspired livery, the bike remains the same as the standard model with identical features and engine specs.

The ongoing version of the FZ-S Fi hybrid was launched at a sticker price of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in March 2025. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January, it gets the same hybrid tech as seen in the Yamaha scooters. The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is not only the brand’s but also India’s first-ever hybrid motorcycle in the 150cc segment with obviously no direct rivals.
