Yamaha reported total sales of 68,796 units in August 2026 with the RayZR leading the chart, followed by the FZ
Yamaha Motor India is one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in the country with an extensive portfolio of sporty motorcycles and scooters. The Japanese brand posted strong sales of 68,796 units in August 2026 with a YoY growth of 14 percent. The company has retailed 60,413 units during the same month last year. On the contrary, the MoM volumes were down by 5 percent as July 2026 sales stood at 72,579 units. The RayZR was the best-selling Yamaha last month, followed by the FZ and Fascino in the domestic market.
First things first, Yamaha RayZR continued to be the highest-selling model in August 2026 (20,700 units). It more or less matched the sales performance of August 2025 (20,671 units) with almost identical volumes. Similarly, the FZ despite retaining the second position, registered a YoY de-growth of 1 percent as 14,214 units were sold in August 2026 against 14,323 units in August 2025.
However, it was the Fascino scooter which reported sensational double-digit growth of 96 percent as sales almost doubled in Aug 2026 at 9,493 units from 4,849 units in Aug 2025. The R15 line-up recorded a nominal YoY growth of 2 percent as 7,691 units were retailed in August 2026 as compared to 7,529 units during the same month last year. The fully-faired motorcycle is one of the most popular models in the 150cc segment in India.

Coming to the MT 15, the sales declined by 31 percent on a YoY basis from 10,613 units in August 2025 to 7,357 units in August 2026. The XSR155 sales stood at 5,254 units in August 2026. The modern retro sports bike was launched in Nov 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. It was the best-selling model in the first month of the launch with overall sales of 16,359 units.
The Aerox performance scooter reported a decent double-digit growth of 49 percent as sales increased from 2,424 units in August 2025 to 3,611 units in August 2026. The brand’s first electric scooter, the EC-06, recorded sales of 475 units last month. It was launched earlier this year in Feb 2026 at a staggering price point of Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in our country.
Last but not the least, 1 unit of the R3 supersports bike, which has now been discontinued from India, was sold last month. The sales figures of the recently launched R2 fully-faired sportsbike, launched in Aug 2026, have not been dilvulged yet as the deliveries are yet to begin in India. The 200cc bike is available in three variants namely YZF-R2, YZF-R2 (Quick Shifter) and YZF-R2 M at price points of Rs 2,30,500, Rs 2,39,500 and Rs 2,53,000, respectively, in India.
