Yamaha Debuts New 250cc FZS 25; Updates FZ25 to BS6

Yamaha has released details and pictures of its updated FZ25 range. The surprise is the debut of the new FZS in the portfolio. This is a bid to replicate the success story of the 150cc FZ range. While the FZ will remain the basic variant in the lineup, the FZS will carry more bells and whistles.

2020 FZ25 BS6

The new FZ25 comes with a Bharat Stage 6 compliant 249cc, single cylinder engine which produces 20.8 PS of peak power at 8000 rpm and 20.1 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. This means that in this transition the motorcycle has lost 0.1 PS of power but it has gained 0.1 Nm of torque. At 153 kg, the motorcycle also weighs 1 kilogram more than before.

The FZ25 also gets a new aggressive looking LED headlamp, side stand with engine cut-off and other features like multi-function negative LCD instrument cluster, LED daytime running lights, dual channel ABS etc. It now comes in new colours of Metallic Black and Racing Blue whereas all the existing four colours have been discontinued, including the Limited Edition black.

Price of the new FZ25 BS6 will be announced closer to its launch in April 2020. For reference, the current version costs Rs 1,34,680 ex-showroom Delhi.
