As an ardent fan of Bike advice and and after going through most of the reviews, just thought it would be nice to share my experience about my Fazy Baby right here.. I’m a 6.2ft tallguy weighing around 85 KGs and commute around 20 kms per day. I intially had pulsar 2007 150cc which was a dreadful experience for me since I spent more for maintenance than the bikes over all cost. The digital meter stopped working in 8 months, the break shoe will go bad every 2 months, the clutch cable often gets cut, and more importantly the silencer started to develop cracks and holes which was a very worse thing to happen.
I finally pushed it off and went for Fazer 150cc red and got it in Feb 2010, Didn’t consult anyone or did not read any review just went by instincts and its proved to be a great decision. I have done around 6000 kms and all of it in the city during the peak hours of Chennai 10.00 AM and 6.00 PM. I got 40+ with Pulsar and with Fazer I’m getting around 38.
No back ache – beautiful sitting position and comfort level, No back lagging in traffic – Easy to commute thro that too to carry my weight. It’s fantastic. No skidding – With its fat tyres Its easy at the curves.
Great pickup and torque – Now don’t pull in Apache or Pulsar here.. attach a fairing and fat tyre and see where the other two are.. There are only a few cons which I dont mind, Small rear seat and of course the cost. But other than these its a pleasure to drive the babe in city. I m sure I’ll get 45 kmpl if its a highway which I ll be taking in a short time. I feel that long ride gives more mileage than short rides.
Since the engine needs to heat up again and again in short rides. But I’m not sure about that. I’m also looking forward to few accessories like Billet clutch, horn, carrier for touring etc. But as of now.. If you are a tall and macho guy and want a good looking and performing bike. I would say Fazer is good. And guys please dont compare Pulsar 220 or Apache 180 with this babe because its a 150cc bike which can perform more than its ability… and it is YAMAHA!!
