Yamaha’s first-ever electric scooter in India will be retailed in select cities through the company’s premium Blue Square showrooms
Yamaha India has launched the EC 06 e-scooter at a staggering price point of Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being the brand’s first-ever electric scooter in the Indian market, it was unveiled in Nov 2025 at an event held in Mumbai alongside the all-electric version of the Aero high-performance scooter. Yamaha EC 06 will go on sale in select cities through the company’s premium Blue Square showrooms. Based on the River Indie, the EC-06 is being developed at River’s factory in Bengaluru.
Adorning Yamaha’s core DNA with contemporary aesthetics, it gets horizontal core layout, sharp body lines, stable stance and elevated proportions. It comes with three ride modes namely Eco, Standard, and Power. The e-scooter also boasts of the Reverse Mode as standard. The suspension duties are helmed by telescopic front forks with hydraulic dampers and rear coil spring suspension.
Yamaha EC 06 is equipped with 200mm front and rear disc brakes which work alongside a Combi Brake System (CBS). Some of the notable features onboard the electric scooter are LED headlights and taillights, 24.5 litres of under-seat storage, and coloured LCD display with real-time information on speed, battery status, riding modes, and connectivity features.

The riders can pair the Smartphone with the EC 06 through “Yamaha Motor Connect R” app to access real-time data and other smart features. The electronics onboard are IP65 certified to ensure superior water and dust resistance. It is powered by an IP67 certified battery pack of 4 kWh which returns a range of 169 km on a single charge. The fixed battery is connected to an electric motor which generates 9 bhp and 26 Nm.
The IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) ensures a top speed of 79 kmph. The electric scooter is offered with standard home charging plug-in compatibility which takes nearly 8 hours for a complete juice up. The battery pack comes with a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty as standard. Yamaha EC 06 will be benefitted from the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
