Vinfast will start its two-wheeler retail operations in India with the launch of the Evo, Feliz and Viper as CKD units
We earlier reported that Vietnam-based pure EV brand Vinfast will foray into the electric two-wheeler segment in India by mid 2026. Now, it has been learnt that the company will begin its electric two-wheeler journey in the Indian market with the launch of three models namely Evo, Feliz and Viper. All these electric scooters are currently on sale in Vietnam and they will be sold as CKD (completely knocked down) units in India with local assembly at the brand’s factory in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin), Tamil Nadu.
Apart from selling the CKD versions of Evo, Feliz and Viper, Vinfast will also develop purpose-built India-specific electric scooters. Furthermore, it is also contemplating the local production of these three electric scooters in the future, so that they can be priced aggressively in the Indian market. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the state government of Tamil Nadu in this regard.
As part of the MoU, Vinfast will be allocated around 200 hectares of land at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thoothukudi to expand its existing production plant for the local manufacturing of electric scooters. Vinfast has stated that the Evo, Feliz and Viper e-scooters will be “tailored to suit local usage conditions and mobility habits in each market”.
Vinfast Evo: Price, Battery Specs and Rivals
Starting with Vinfast Evo, it is powered by twin 2.4 kWh LFP battery packs which are linked to a hub-mounted electric motor. It is priced at 22,800,000 VND in Vietnam which roughly translates to approx Rs 81,000 in the Indian market, as per the foreign exchange rate presently. Hence, the Evo could be a decent budget-friendly alternative to the likes of Bajaj Chetak C25, Hero Vida VX2 and TVS Orbiter. The range and top speed are rated at 134 km and 70 kmph, respectively.
Vinfast Feliz and Viper: Price, Battery Specs and Rivals
The Feliz and Viper are premium models as they come equipped with 14-inch wheels as compared to the 12-inch wheel setup of the Evo. While the Feliz houses a 3 kWh battery and 3 kW electric motor, the Viper is packed with a 4.8 kWh battery pack and 2.8 kW electric motor. The maximum range for the Feliz and Viper are pegged at 262 km and 156 km, respectively.
Vinfast Feliz is priced at 26,900,000 VND in the Vietnamese market which is roughly Rs 96,000 in India. Hence, upon launch, it could be positioned against the Ola S1, TVS iQube, Ather Rizta and Bajaj Chetak 3001 in the country. On the other hand, Vinfast Viper is a maxi-styled electric scooter at a price tag of 45,500,000 VND which is nearly Rs 1.63 lakh in India. It could be the brand’s flagship offering in India against Vida V2, Ola S1 Pro Plus, Ather 450 Apex, and TVS iQube ST.
