The limited edition scooter, available with both 125cc and 150cc engines, has been presented in a special Verde Pastello green colour scheme
Vespa has unveiled the Tech 80th limited edition model in the Indian market. Available with both 125cc and 150cc engine options, it has been presented in a special Verde Pastello green paint scheme. Vespa Tech 80th edition has been rolled out to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first model which went on sale in 1946. Hence, the styling is inspired by the original Vespa whose patent was filed nearly 80 years ago. Vespa Tech 80th edition prices are likely to be revealed next week in the Indian market.
The special paint scheme has been extended to several exterior elements such as the passenger grab handle, the rear-view mirrors, the control units and the front suspension linkage. The seat is embellished with stitching in a darker green colour while the footrest and the handles get rubber inserts. The rims are inspired by the first Vespas, beginning with the Vespa 98 from 1946 as they come in Verde Pastello finishing.
The front fascia flaunts the legendary Vespa logo alongside a commemorative β80thβ plaque. The rear plate is offered with a badge with the β80 years of Vespa Est. 1946β logo. Apart from the new colour scheme, Vespa Tech 80th edition retains the same platform, cycle parts and features. The 125cc and 150cc engines also remain the same without any updates.

Some of the notable features onboard the scooter are turn-by-turn navigation, accept/reject phone calls with the touch of a button, music controls, voice commands, keyless ignition and 5-inch digital TFT display. The stopping power comes from 200mm front disc and 140mm rear drum brakes, which work in accordance with the Combi Brake System (CBS) in the 125cc model, while ABS is offered with the 150cc version.
The suspension duties are carried out by hydraulic single side arm front unit and dual-shock hydraulic rear absorbers. It rides on 11-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels which are fitted with 110/70 and 120/70 tyres, respectively. The saddle height is pegged at 770 mm while the fuel tank capacity stands at 7.4 litres. The scooter has a wheelbase of 1290 mm.

Both the 125cc and 150cc engines are BS6 OBD-2B fuel compliant. While the bigger 149.5cc single-cylinder mill churns out 11.3 bhp at 7500 rpm and 11.6 Nm at 6100 rpm, the smaller 124.45cc single-cylinder motor generates top power of 9.4 bhp at 7100 rpm and highest torque of 10.1 Nm at 5600 rpm. These figures will remain unchanged with the Vespa Tech 80th edition.
