The upcoming TVS entry-level electric scooter, claimed to be christened as Orbiter, will be launched around the festive season of Diwali later this year.
We earlier told you that a new TVS entry-level electric scooter is under development and it could debut in the coming 3-4 months near the festive season of Diwali (Oct-Nov) 2025 in India. Recently, the design patent of the new e-scooter was leaked online in Indonesia. Now, in a fresh development, we have learnt that the upcoming TVS entry-level electric scooter could be christened as ‘Orbiter’ contrary to earlier reports which claimed it to be the Jupiter EV. It will be positioned below the iQube series in TVS portfolio.
Last year, TVS had trademarked three monikers namely Orbiter, EV-one and O for its upcoming electric scooter which will be a highly affordable model with prices likely to start below Rs 1 lakh. Among the aforementioned three nameplates, Orbiter is the frontrunner for the new TVS e-scooter. However, it has not been officially finalized by the brand yet.

The new e-scooter could borrow cycle parts from the base variant of the iQube with 2.2 kWh battery pack. It will house an identical setup with the same Bosch-sourced hub-mounted electric motor. Since it will be a budget friendly model, we can assume it will come with a simple design, basic features and a small battery pack. Though the exact technical specs are not known yet, we expect a range of around 80 km on a full charge.
TVS iQube is available with a wide range of battery packs, ranging from 2.2 kWh to 5.1 kWh for the flagship ST grade. It is priced between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The competition is growing at a rapid pace in the mass-market sub Rs 1 lakh segment with several leading players such as Bajaj, Ola and Hero ready to launch their new models. Hence, TVS also intends to have a presence in this space with the Orbiter electric scooter.

TVS iQube was the country’s highest-selling electric scooter in May 2025 with sales of 24,560 units. For reference, Bajaj Chetak was the best-selling scooter in April 2025 with volumes exceeding 34k units. TVS iQube too had sales of more than 30k units in Apr 2025. In March 2025 as well, the iQube clinched the topmost position with sales of 19,736 units. In all, it can be stated that TVS iQube has been wholly accepted by the people of India.
TVS Motor Company is also readying a few other models for the Indian market, which includes a middleweight adventure motorcycle, a supermoto version of the same, and a new electric moped. While the RTX 300 ADV bike and the RTS X have been spotted testing multiple times, the XL electric moped is in initial stages of development. All these new models are likely to be launched by the end of FY26 (March 2026).
