Simple Energy claimed that the Wave family electric scooter will focus on comfort, practicality and shared journeys rather than performance
Simple Energy is all set to launch a new family electric scooter on September 2, 2026 in the Indian market. Now, the company has disclosed that the upcoming e-scooter will be called ‘Wave’. Contrary to the official announcement, several media reports earlier suggested that it will be christened as ‘Arrive’. Simple Wave will directly rival Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and Yamaha EC06 while focusing on comfort, practicality and shared journeys. The brand claims that the ‘Wave’ moniker is inspired by nature as it reflects effortless movement, freedom and togetherness.
Simple Wave has been developed through years of in-house research and engineering as it follows Simple Energy’s first-principles approach to product development into a new category. It will be the brand’s most affordable model till date in India. The electric scooter has been spotted on multiple occasions during its test runs on the Indian roads, albeit with camouflage.
The e-scooter will boast of a flat single-piece seat, front disc brake and dual-shock rear suspension. It will also come with a TFT instrument console and small storage spaces in the front apron. As visible in the spy images, Simple Wave will come with an LED headlamp which will be positioned beneath the full-width LED DRLs on the apron.

The spy images also confirm the presence of telescopic front suspension, upright handlebar, and centre stand. Taking a radical departure from the One and OneS, which are performance-oriented models, the company is aiming to tap into the commuter segment. The proportionate design indicates that the Wave e-scooter will be offered with traditional styling as compared to the angular profile of One and OneS e-scooters.
The technical details, including battery pack, motor and range, are not available in public domain. Currently, the brand retails three electric scooters in our country in the form of One, OneS and Ultra. While the One is packed with a 5 kWh battery and 265 km range, the One S comes with a 3.7 kWh battery pack and range of 190 km, followed by the range-topping Ultra which gets a 6.5 kWh battery and 400 km range.

The One S, One and Ultra are available at price points of Rs 1.72 lakh, Rs 1.95 lakh and Rs 2.35 lakh, respectively, in the Indian market. Since the Wave is a family electric scooter, it is likely to borrow the 3.7 kWh battery pack and range of around 200 km on a single charge. We can expect the e-scooter to come at a price tag of around Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
