The first middleweight Norton motorcycle for India, purportedly christened as Electra, will be unveiled at Nov 4 in Milan, Italy at EICMA 2025.
We earlier told you that Norton Motorcycles, the British two-wheeler brand, now owned by India-based TVS Motor Company, will introduce a new range of single and twin-cylinder models in the Indian market by the end of 2025. It was confirmed by Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director, TVS in an interview to the media that the upcoming Norton bikes in India will be based on the BMW F 450 GS platform while locally manufactured at the TVS factory in Hosur. Now, Norton has teased the new motorcycle on its various social media platforms, hinting at an EICMA 2025 debut on Nov 4.
Norton Motorcycles will launch six new models by 2027 globally. The first two motorcycles are likely to debut at the EICMA 2025 which starts from Nov 4 in Milan, Italy. The new Norton motorcycles, post unveiling at the Milan Motor Show, will go on sale in the Indian market by the end of 2025. TVS will locally manufacture these models while they will also be exported to several global markets from India.

Going by the teaser video, it shows the tail-light of the upcoming Norton motorcycle and it is hard to say whether it will be different from the company’s present line-up. In all, the teaser hints at a staggered tail-light cluster and body panels. Presently, Norton retails 961 and V4 models in the British market and it will be the first time that it will be launching middleweight (350-650cc) motorcycles.
Recently, Norton had filed a trademark for ‘Electra’ moniker in the Indian market. Hence, it was assumed that the first Norton motorcycle in India could be christened as the Electra. However, the brand has not confirmed any such development but going by its history, it seems to be on cards as Electra was one of the most iconic models from Norton in the era of 60s.

It has further been learnt that Norton Electra would sport a neo-retro look while powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder engine. It could be showcased at the TVS annual motorcycle fest, named as MotoSoul, in Dec 2025 in our country. The upcoming Norton motorcycle could be priced around Rs 4-5 lakh (ex-showroom).
TVS Motor Company had acquired Norton Motorcycles in 2020 at a sum of Rs 153 Crores. However, the story just doesn’t end here as in the last few years, TVS has invested more than Rs 1000 Crore in Norton. After Triumph-Bajaj and Hero-Harley, we will see yet another foreign brand teaming up with a local player to launch motorcycles in the Indian market.
