Several all-new electric bikes from mainstream brands such as Honda, Hero and Royal Enfield are ready to launch in the next 9-12 months in India
The electric motorcycle segment has witnessed a lot of new model launches in the last few months. This includes the Flying Flea C6 from Royal Enfield, Oben Rorr Evo and Avore EX among many others. But, this is not all as several prominent two-wheeler brands such as Honda, Vinfast and Hero are all set to foray into this segment with their all-new products in the coming months. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the upcoming electric bikes launching in India in next 9-12 months.
1. Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6
The all-terrain scrambler is confirmed to launch by the end of 2026 in the Indian market. Having made its first public appearance in India at the Motoverse 2025, the Flying Flea S6 is likely to be more expensive than the C6 which is sold at a sticker price of Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric bike could also get the same 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery with an identical range of around 150 km on a full charge.
Sharing the L platform with the C6, the Flying Flea S6 will ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres. A few other notable highlights include Enduro-style seat, Finned magnesium battery case, Chain final drive setup, Round touchscreen instrument console with connected features, lean-angle sensing ABS, switchable dual-channel ABS, off-road mode, cruise control, integrated navigation and traction control.
2. Vinfast Sulad
A few months back, Vinfast patented the design of a new electric bike in India. It is likely to be the Sulad concept based model which was unveiled earlier this year by the brand. The technical specs of the Vinfast Sulad-based electric bike have not been disclosed. However, a few reports from Vietnam indicate that it will house a 50 kW electric motor which will ensure a top speed of 130 kmph.
Vinfast Sulad electric motorcycle could be sold as CKD (completely knocked down) units in India with local assembly at the brand’s factory in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin), Tamil Nadu. It could go on sale by the end of 2026 in our country with the Viper scooter and Rasad maxi-scooter as Vinfast forays into the electric two-wheeler segment in the Indian market.
3. Ampere Xyber
Recently, Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the parent company of Ampere, filed the design patent for the Xyber electric motorcycle in India. Being the company’s first electric bike in the Indian market, it will directly rival Ola Roadster X, Oben Rorr EVO, and Revolt RV400. Ampere Xyber concept was unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. It could hit the Indian roads by early 2027.
The Xyber, with a naked streetfighter design, gets 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels. The braking equipment installed on the model includes front and rear disc units alongside a single-channel ABS. Flaunting a space-age cockpit design, it is powered by an 8-10 kW motor to achieve a top speed of 100 kmph with a certified range of 180-200 kilometers on a full charge.
4. Honda WN7
In May 2026, Honda filed the design patent of the WN7 electric motorcycle in India. Touted as the brand’s first electric bike in India, it is based on the EV Fun concept as it comes with a fixed battery pack. Honda WN7 debuted at EICMA 2025 in Italy and it will be locally developed at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory in Japan while launching in several global markets in a phased manner. We could see the WN7 on the Indian roads by late 2027.
Tipping the weighing scale at 217 kg, the electric bike sits on a frameless structure with a monocoque subframe. Honda WN7 comes loaded with several premium features in the form of 5-inch TFT instrument console, Honda RoadSync connectivity, Regenerative braking, Deceleration Selector and Walking Speed Mode. At the heart, there is a 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery which delivers a maximum range of 140 km (WMTC mode) on a full charge.
5. Hero Ubex
Recently, Hero MotoCorp confirmed that its first all-electric motorcycle will go on sale in 2027 in the Indian market and we strongly believe that it will be the Ubex concept based model. The design patent for Hero Ubex was apparently filed in production-ready form earlier this year in India while the concept version debuted at the EICMA 2025 in Italy.
Sitting on a modular chassis, the neo-naked hypermoto is built for all-terrain riding. The ‘Ubex’ term has been coined from ‘Urbex’ which stands for urban exploration. The surprise element revealed in the design patent is the massive battery pack which extends till the bottom. Though the exact battery capacity and range details are not made public, the electric motorcycle is likely to offer around 200-220 km on a full charge.
