New 400cc Cruiser From United Motorcycles Coming by September

United Motors Lohia, the joint venture between the American motorcycle manufacturer and Lohia Auto Industries, is going to launch a new 400cc cruiser. While the company had first showcased its products at the Auto Expo last year, they took a new look at its plans and has decided to work on an all new India-centric motorcycle.

As per a report on Autocar India this new cruiser will hit the market by the second quarter of 2015 which means, if UML sticks to its timelines this time, we are looking at a launch between July and September.

The report also adds that the motorcycle will be fitted with disc brakes and ABS. Although they might begin small with just a few models but they appear to be serious about the Indian market and intend to add a model every six months.

Developed from scratch, the company further plans to make India a manufacturing hub with the new engine being exported to international markets. The company wants to target the western and southern part of India before growing its pan-India presence. The dealership target is 75 outlets in 50 cities by July 2015. The joint venture has decided to initially start with the Lohia group’s Kashipur facility as their manufacturing hub.
