United Motorcycles has started accepting bookings of the Renegade family once again. The manufacturer had earlier stopped accepting bookings after the first 1,000 units. The figures do seem interesting as none of the buyers have ever ridden any of the bikes. Deliveries will begin from the month of August.
The bikes can be booked after a payment of Rs 10,000 either at the dealerships or online. The first 500 bookings will get deliveries in the month of August while the next 500 people will have to wait for their bikes till September! The company though, has made a very interesting proclamation on their website:
“The Buyer agrees that it is Buyer’s own and independent decision to book/ purchase the Bike, taken by him/ her after due research and consideration in this regard and the said decision is not influenced by any factors including any endorsement, advertisement, and/or marketing of the Seller of its motorbikes, including the Bike in India.”
We will leave it to you to decipher the reason of putting this disclaimer up!
Further, they have cleared details about their cancellation and refunds policy. If there is a cancellation 30 days prior to delivery, 50 per cent of the booking amount will be debited and the rest will be credited back to the account from which the payment was made, within 3 months. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the delivery date, the entire booking amount will be forfeited.
UM has also claimed that deliveries of the first lot of motorcycles will begin from June and we have no clue or trace of any rideable Renegade yet!
