TVS Registers 29 Percent Sales Growth in Jan 2026

The company’s overall sales touched 5,11,766 units in Jan 2026 with the EVs and three-wheelers being the major growth segments

TVS Motor Company has posted YoY sales growth of 29 percent in Jan 2026 as it retailed 5,11,766 units against 397,623 units in Jan 2025. It sold a total of 494,195 units last month as compared to 387,671 units in Jan 2025 with a YoY growth of 28 percent. The domestic sales, in particular, surged to 383,262 units in Jan 2026 from 293,860 units during the same month last year with a YoY growth of 30 percent. The EV business too witnessed a YoY growth of 50 percent as sales increased from 25,195 units in January 2025 to 37,756 units in January 2026.

Starting with motorcycles, TVS sold 219,188 units in Jan 2026 which is up from 174,388 units during the same month last year with a YoY growth of 26 percent. The scooter range too performed quite well with YoY growth of 30 percent as 222,926 units were retailed last month as compared to 171,111 units in Jan 2025.

Coming to exports, TVS shipped a total of 122,343 made-in-India vehicles to various global markets in Jan 2026 as compared to 101,055 units during the same month last year with a YoY growth of 21 percent. As for two-wheelers, it dispatched 110,933 units from India in Jan 2026 against 93,811 units exported in Jan 2025 with a YoY growth of 18 percent.

Last but not the least, the three-wheeler business also grew by a staggering 77 percent in Jan 2026 with sales volumes of 17,571 units as compared to 9,952 units in Jan 2025. Presently, Bajaj Auto is the undisputed leader in the three-wheeler segment in India with a market share that exceeds more than 60 percent. TVS is gradually making its way in this highly competitive segment.

This success saga has compelled the brand to increase the production of its electric scooters namely the iQube and Orbiter. The brand is carrying out a capacity review due to the strong witnessed by both these models across the country. TVS sold a total of 1.06 lakh units of these e-scooters (iQube + Orbiter) in Q4 (Oct-Dec) 2025 in the Indian market.

“We are reviewing capacity for next year, and we are definitely investing in EV capacity because this is something which is growing,” stated KN Radhakrishnan, CEO and director of TVS Motor Company. Currently, the average monthly production of the iQube and Orbiter is capped at 30,000 units and 10,000 units, respectively. However, the company will invest heavily to ramp up the production of these electric scooters at the Hosur facility.
