TVS Orbiter electric scooter is now available for test ride in four major Indian cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru
TVS Motor Company launched the Orbiter electric scooter on Aug 28, 2025 in the Indian market. The official bookings started on TVS website from the day of the launch at a fully refundable token payment of Rs 5001/- across the country. Now, it has been more than a month and half but there is still no word on the commencement of deliveries of the Orbiter EV in major cities in India, except Bengaluru where it shows a waiting period of 2 weeks. However, a fresh development has taken place on the company website as it now shows that TVS Orbiter e-scooter test rides can be availed by the customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.
The Orbiter EV is the brand’s entry-level electric scooter, priced at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom), positioned below the iQube. It measures 1855 mm in length, 728 mm in width and 1284 mm in height. The e-scooter has a ground clearance of 165 mm while the saddle height is tipped at 763 mm. TVS Orbiter is presented with a single long-form flat seat which measures 845 mm. The straight-line footboard measures 290 mm in length.
The Orbiter EV has an underseat storage area of 34 litres. It will be retailed in six colour choices namely Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. The electric scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels which are packed with 90/80-14 46P front and 90/90-12 54J rear tyres. The Orbiter is introduced with an upright handlebar.
As for features, the e-scooter comes with LED headlamp and tail-lamp, coloured LCD display, Bluetooth connectivity, Turn-by-turn navigation, OTA updates, Distance to empty, A & B Trip reset, and Incoming call display on screen. The Orbiter EV also gets an array of connected features through the SmartXonnect app in the form of Geofencing, Crash alerts, Use & pay for public charging, Live location of scooter, Emergency contacts.
The Orbiter electric scooter houses a 3.1 kWh battery pack which comes with IP67 certification. It is claimed to return a range of 158 km on a full charge. The battery is connected to a 2.5 kW BLDC electric motor which ensures 0-40 kmph sprint in 6.8 secs. Weighing at 112 kg, TVS Orbiter also gets multiple ride modes namely Eco and City, apart from the Reverse mode.
As for charging, TVS is providing a 650W charger with the Orbiter which takes nearly 4 hours and 10 mins for a 0-80 percent charge. The electric scooter is locally developed at the brand’s production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It rivals the likes of Ather Rizta S, Ola S1 X, Bajaj Chetak 3001 and Hero Vida VX2 in the Indian market.
