The Ntorq 150 is the first high-performance scooter from the brand as it lock horns with the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Xoom 160 in the Indian market.
TVS Motor Company has launched the Ntorq 150 at a starting price of Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. It will directly rival Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155 in the domestic market. To be developed locally at the brand’s production facility in Hosur, TVS Ntorq 150 is presented with 22 first-in-segment features while equipped with an air-cooled engine. This high-performance model is the most powerful TVS scooter till date in India and the second offering in the Ntorq range after the Ntorq 125.
First things first, TVS Ntorq 150 gets segment-first follow me projector headlamp setup upfront along with a naked handlebar and adjustable brake levers. Riding on 12-inch alloy wheels, it also gets aerodynamic winglets and a slightly upswept muffler. The high-performance scooter boasts of a single-piece seat which has been slightly raised for the pillion. Some of the other notable design highlights include LED tail-lamp cluster, LED turn indicators and sporty split grab rails.
The Ntorq 150 is packed with numerous modern features which we have not seen before in any scooter in the Indian market. Some of the standout features include Ride modes (Race & Street), Single-channel ABS, Switchable traction control, Hazard lamps, 5-inch TFT instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, Smartwatch integration, Alexa connectivity, Turn-by-turn Navigation, TVS iGo Assist and Integrated Start Stop system.
The instrument console provides the rider access to several critical infos such as Low fuel, Service, Side Stand, Call & Message notification, High Speed & Crash alert, OTA service updates, and Riding analysis. The scooter has an underseat storage area of 22 litres while small belongings of up to 2 litres can be kept in the front glove box. The scooter will be available in four colour schemes namely Stealth Silver, Racing Red, Turbo Blue, Nitro Green.
The suspension duties are helmed by telescopic front forks and coil springs with hydraulic dampers at the rear. The stopping power comes from 220 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum brakes. Tipping the weighing scale at just 115 kgs, it has a ground clearance of 155 mm while the saddle height is pegged at 770 mm. The Ntorq 150 rides on 100/80-12 front and 110/80-12 rear tubeless tyres.
At the heart, the Ntorq 150 has a newly-developed 149.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine which develops top power of 13 bhp at 7000 rpm and highest torque of 14.2 Nm at 5500 rpm. It clocks a best-in-segment 0-60 kmph sprint time of 6.3 secs while the top speed is rated at 104 kmph. The scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 5.8 litres.
