Spied: TVS Neo X3i along NH7

TVS has off late been a successful brand not only in India but in Indonesia as well. Ever since the company stepped into the Indonesian market almost all its products are well received out there and the entry for the company into that market has been strategically fruitful too. TVS has 5 models out there out of which two are Apache and the other three are basically step – up scooters. They are not like the Activas and Access here but to a greater extent will resemble the Hero Honda Street in their basic layout and design. I’ve pulled the ’Street’ into this topic to give you a mere clarity of its shape.

Now, we at BikeAdvice have got a surprise for all our readers. Guess what? Our reader and a proud owner of Honda CBR 250R Mr. Diwakar from Bangalore had clicked a few pics of TVS Neo X3i  along the NH7 and near Hosur (Tamilandu – Karnataka border), where TVS Motors’ plant is located. Thanks to you, Diwakar!

Now, in this post we bring you the images and details of TVS Neo X3i. There are basically two variants of this model as you can see in the pics. One on the left side with red and black colour scheme is the basic variant with spoke wheels and no alloys. Check out the other one. You’ll find it with alloy wheels and to add to it, it’s equipped with disc brakes too.

The Neo looks really sturdy in terms of its looks. The riding position is perfect for city commuting. The rear tail light, on close observation resembles the Fiero’s tail light. That fits cool into this scooter.  The exhaust design and muffler cover is simple with no projections or any uniqueness which a product like Neo doesn’t require anyways.

The headlamp design is similar to a Honda Dio with the lamp fitted not on the front part of the handle bar but below that. This usually aids in providing enhanced vision since it is placed low. But the drawback of this is the fact that when you are along a curve or a turn, there are more (or even high, I would say) chances of the focus to be straight rather than pointing where you want.

This is not a gearless scooter. Mind it! It’s got a gearbox with 4 manual gears and the gear lever is foot controlled. The design of this product is such that it attracts women as well. With a big gap in the front, it will surely be easy for them to get on and get down of it.  The dual colour scheme in both the models in the pic looks really cool. Also note the number plate mounting above the headlight which actually looks a little odd after seeing all the Indian scooters.

The NeoX3i simply boasts of no extra-ordinary design or any features for that matter. But, the product looks convincing in almost all aspects. The powermill for the Neo is a 110 cc Single cylinder 4 stroke air cooled engine which sounds ideal taking its dimensions into consideration.

But, the question is ‘Why is this being tested in India?’ “Is it the next product from TVS Motors for the Indian market?” This segment is left vacant post the exit f Hero Honda Street from the Indian market. No news from TVS so far. But with Delhi Auto Expo just round the corner, is the company trying to showcase the products and launch it out there? Well, the probability of this to happen is VERY HIGH! Keep updated with BikeAdvice as I try to keep you guys all updated about this offering from the noble stable o0f TVS Motors.
