TVS iQube, Orbiter Production to be Increased Due to High Demand

TVS Motor Company EV sales (iQube + Orbiter) stood at 1.06 lakh units in Q4 (Oct-Dec) 2025 in the Indian market

TVS Motor Company is all set to increase the production of its electric scooters namely iQube and Orbiter due to growing demand in the Indian market. The company sold more than 1 lakh units of EVs in Q4 (Oct-Dec) 2025 in the country while outnumbering the domestic e2w industry in terms of overall growth. TVS iQube has emerged as India’s top-selling electric scooter. On the other hand, the Orbiter EV, launched in Aug 2025, is also witnessing uniform demand and the company has begun deliveries across several key cities.

KN Radhakrishnan, CEO and director of TVS Motor Company, in the recent earnings call said that the brand is contemplating a capacity review which is fuelled by strong demand for both the electric scooters and ease in supply-side constraints. He further added that response for both the electric models has been “encouraging, with the two products addressing different customer segments rather than cannibalising each other”.

“It is too early to give actual usage trends, but the demand is excellent in the markets where we have launched,” he said, referring to Orbiter. The Orbiter EV was launched at a sticker price of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It is the brand’s only mass-market EV model under Rs 1 lakh and caters to budget-friendly customers while pitted against Bajaj Chetak C25, Hero Vida VX2.

“The good news is iQube is also growing, and Orbiter is also growing,” added Radhakrishnan. TVS iQube is a rather diverse electric scooter with a choice of four battery packs in the form of 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 5.3 kWh with an IDC range of 94 km, 123 km, 145 km and 212 km, respectively. The iQube 2.2, iQube 3.1, iQube 3.5 S, and iQube 5.3 ST are priced at Rs 1.10 lakh, 1.18 lakh, Rs 1.30-1.40 lakh, and Rs 1.74 lakh, respectively. All the prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru.

Presently, TVS iQube average monthly production is nearly 30,000 units while around 10,000 units of the Orbiter are wheeled out every month from the company factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. These numbers are expected to be higher from the first quarter (Apr-Jun) of FY27. TVS has earmarked additional investment for ramping up the production of EVs at the Hosur facility. “We are reviewing capacity for next year, and we are definitely investing in EV capacity because this is something which is growing,” stated Radhakrishnan.

“We had some challenges with magnet availability, but now it is better. By another month, you will see full supplies of EVs in the market. As volumes are growing, we are becoming better quarter after quarter,” concluded Radhakrishnan. Despite the non-availability of rare earth magnets for a certain period of time, which resulted in production constraints during the last quarter, TVS was able to register record EV sales in India.
