TVS Electric Scooters Sales Cross 10 Lakh Units – Details

TVS could create a new record of selling 5 lakh electric two-wheelers in 2026 in the Indian market

TVS electric scooters have unlocked a new sales milestone of 10 lakh units in the Indian market. The cumulative retail sales of the brand’s electric scooters stood at 10,04,148 units, as per the data available on Vahan portal. TVS Motor Company had started selling electric two-wheelers from Jan 2020 in the country and it is only the second brand to achieve the feat of retailing 1 million EVs after Ola Electric. In a staggering series of events, the Hosur-based brand sold the last 1 lakh electric scooters in just 75 days, which translates into 1,333 units a day between March 28 and June 10.

TVS presently retails three electric scooters in our country namely iQube, X and Orbiter. While the iQube and Orbiter are mass-market models in price range of Rs 84,500-1.72 lakh with multiple battery pack options, the X is the brand’s halo product which is priced at Rs 2.66 lakh. The prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Bengaluru.

As per the sales data available, it took nearly 5 years for TVS to retail the first 5 lakh units while the next 5 lakh units were sold in merely 16 months. The company’s market share was only 1 percent in 2020. However, presently, it is the country’s biggest electric two-wheeler brand with a market share of 25 percent as it rules the e2w segment.

Recently, TVS updated the existing S grade of the iQube e-scooter with a bigger 4.7 kWh battery pack and longer range of 175 km at a price point of Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Earlier, it used to come with a 3.5 kWh battery and 145 km range. TVS iQube S 4.7 kWh is nearly Rs 19,000 more expensive than the preceding model, which was priced at Rs 1.18 lakh.

TVS iQube is India’s highest-selling electric scooter with more than 9 lakh units sold till date in the country. Currently, it is available in over 1,000 cities and 3,300 dealerships across India. On the other hand, the Orbiter V2 electric scooter was launched in India last year in Aug at a starting price of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Equipped with a 3.1 kWh battery pack, it returns an IDC range of 158 km on a single charge.

In March 2026, TVS launched the Orbiter V1 electric scooter at a price point of Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of PM e-Drive). The aforementioned price is applicable on the BaaS model while without it, TVS Orbiter V1 costs Rs 84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of PM e-Drive). Powered by a 1.8 kWh battery pack, it delivers an IDC range of 86 km on a full charge.
