The total electric two-wheeler sales in Jan 2026 stood at 1,22,477 units with TVS accounting for 28 percent of it in the Indian market
TVS Motor Company continued to be the biggest electric two-wheeler brand in the Indian market. It registered volumes of 34,440 units in Jan 2026, which happens to be its highest-ever monthly sales in the domestic market till date. The company recorded YoY sales growth of 43 percent as it had managed to retail 24,027 units during the same month last year. TVS commanded a market share of 28 percent in the e2w segment which is way more than its rival brands such as Ola Electric, Ather Energy and Bajaj Auto.
TVS had forayed into the EV segment with the launch of the iQube in Jan 2020. Since then, there have been only four instances when the brand has surpassed the 30,000 units sales milestone. Apart from Jan 2026, it sold 30,000+ units in Oct 2024 (30,240 units), Mar 2025 (30,772 units) and Nov 2025 (30,584 units). TVS presently retails three electric scooters in India in the form of the iQube, X and Orbiter.

Bajaj Auto was the second largest electric two-wheeler brand in Jan 2026 as it sold 25,520 units of the Chetak e-scooter with YoY sales growth of 19 percent. The Pune-based two-wheeler brand had retailed 21,470 units of the Chetak in Jan 2025. The company has a market share of 21 percent in the e2w space. Recently, Bajaj launched the Chetak C25, which is its most affordable mass-market electric scooter in the Indian market.

Ather Energy continued its golden run with sales of 21,923 units in Jan 2026. It posted a YoY growth of 67 percent as only 13,097 units were retailed during the same period last year. The market share of Ather currently stands at 18 percent in the electric two-wheeler segment. The Bengaluru-based electric startup brand has four models on sale in India namely Rizta, 450X, 450S and 450 Apex.
The fourth brand in this list is Hero MotoCorp which has been witnessing a steady rise in sales from the last few months. Vida, Hero’s EV subsidiary, sold a total of 13,724 electric scooters in Jan 2026 with a staggering YoY sales growth of 716 percent. The brand has managed to retail just 1626 units in Jan 2025. Currently, it owns a market share of 11 percent in the electric two-wheeler segment in India.

Last but not the least, Ola Electric occupies the fifth spot in this list as its downward trajectory continued even in Jan 2026. The YoY sales dropped by 69 percent as volumes came down from 24,413 units in Jan 2025 to 7,512 units in Jan 2026. Almost a year back, Ola used to retail electric scooters in the five digit mark each month with a market share of 24 percent. However, the service related issues plagued the sales with customers distancing themselves from the brand, resulting in lower sales each passing month.
