For TVS Motors, the sales numbers are in for the month of April 2022 and it is showing a mix of positive and negative trends when considering the numbers YoY and MoM.
The company has registered a Gross Sales of 280,022 units in April 2022 against 226,193 units in April 2021. This is a rise of 23,80% in Gross sales YoY.

Year-over-Year
The TVS two-wheeler sales compared from April of last year has grown in all criteria.
Motorcycles – The motorcycle sales numbers stood at 1,39,027 units in April 2022, a growth of 4.35% compared to 1,33,227 units sold in April 2021.
Scooters – The scooter sales stood at 1,02,209 units, a rise of 56.73% compared to 65,213 units sold in April 2021.
Moped – The mopeds registered a growth of 39.75%, growing from 27,753 units in April of last year to 38,786 units sold this year in April.
This totals to Domestic Sales of 1,80,533 units for April 2022. A growth of 37.41% compared to 1,31,386 units registered in April 2021.
The Exports of two-wheelers also showed an upward trend, growing by 4.94%, increasing from 94,807 units in April of previous year to 99,489 units in April 2022.
Month-over-Month
The MoM sales are a mix-bag. Some criteria grew while some declined.
Motorcycles – Compared to sales of March 2022, the motorcycle sales declined by 13.39%, dewn from 1,60,522 units.
Scooters – The scooter sales grew MoM by 7.88%, expanding from 94,747 units sold in the previous month.
Mopeds – Following the trend, the mopeds too grew by 3.02%, up from 37,649 units sold in the previous month.
However, the Domestic Sales shrank by 8.34% MoM.
While the Exports grew by 3.68%, expanding from 95,962 units exported in the previous month.
