Triumph Speed T4 Price Slashed, New Price Below Rs 2 Lakh

Triumph Speed T4 price has been dropped by Rs 18,000 from today as part of the brand’s year-end offers in the Indian market.

Triumph Speed T4 was launched on Sep 17, 2024 at a sticker price of Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. It was presented as an economical and budget-friendly variant of the Speed 400. However, now we have learnt that Triumph has further slashed its price by Rs 18,000 as part of its year-end offers. Hence, the new price of the Speed T4 has come down below Rs 2 lakh for the first time. This discount offer starts from today across the country and will be valid until the stock lasts and hence it is rolled out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The sales data has revealed that Triumph has not received the kind of response that it had expected from the Speed T4 in the Indian market. The British brand had set a monthly sales target of 10,000 units for its 400cc motorcycles in the domestic market. The 400cc portfolio of Triumph bikes in India comprises of Speed 400, Scrambler 400X and Speed T4.

The monthly sales figures have also divulged that until Oct 2024 the collective sales of Triumph’s 400cc motorcycle were around 3,000-4,000 units. Therefore, it could be one of the foremost reasons behind Triumph offering free accessories worth Rs. 12,000 with the Scrambler 400X. We will get more clarity on this once the company releases its model-wise sales for November 2024.

The Speed T4 is the toned-down version of the Speed 400 with several affordable cycle parts which include the non-radial tyres instead of the radial tyres. In fact, it also loses out on traction control feature. The USD front forks were replaced with the conventional telescopic units. The Speed T4 is available in three colour options namely White, Red and Black.

Mechanically, it is powered by the same 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which generates top power of 30.6 bhp at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 36 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine has been re-tuned to make less power as compared to the Speed 400. This engine is offered with a 6-speed gearbox. Just so you know, 85 percent of the torque is achieved at 2,500 rpm only.

Meanwhile, Triumph India is all set to expand its 400cc range of motorcycles with the launch of the Thruxton 400. It will be a cafe-racer model while positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. The bike has been spotted multiple times as test mule and spy-images have revealed that it would feature clip-on handlebars and sem-fairing mounted on the frame.
