India Bike Week is set to become bigger than ever. Last year after the unveiling of the Harley Davidson Street 750, this year’s IBW is all set to see 3 new not-yet-revealed motorcycles from Benelli. The word is that things are going to become hotter with Triumph joining the bandwagon and showcasing its new Tiger 800 range for the first time.
As an upgrade to the Tiger 800 XC which is on sale in India for a price tag of Rs 12.34 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), it will be getting quite a few upgrades form the present version on sale. If this report by Autocar India turns out to be true, this would be their first major launch since the Indian division was marred by controversy last year.
Reportedly, the bike flaunts better off-road capabilities and gains quite a bit of tech gadgetry which will also be a savior during on-road use. The three pot mill has been refined to churn out a better fuel efficiency figure. It even gets cruise control and a revised valvetrain for a quitter riding experience.
Ride by wire throttle and a new smoother gear shift mechanism shall also help in making the bike even more likeable than what it is right now. While we still do not know whether India is going to get all the four models which have been unveiled for the international market or not, this news surely has made 2015 IBW the event to be at this month.
