Our jaws were wide open by looking at the sheer size of the massive Rocket III when we first saw it at the Auto Expo 2012 physically in front of us! The cherry on the top was a blond slim model endorsing it for all the onlookers!
World’s largest-capacity mass production motorcycle, Rocket III has completed 10 years of existence and on this occasion, Triumph has launched a limited special edition of the thumpy crusier!
Called as Rocket X, the mammoth cruiser continues with the massive 2294 cc motor which churns out an earth shattering 221 Nm of peak torque at 2750 rpm. It appears that there are no mechanical changes and hence the power figures, though not specifically mentioned, must continue to be the same 148PS at 5750 rpm.
Here are the features and changes of Triumph’s Rocket X…
- It gets custom paint from 8 Ball (company) which is finished in glossy jet black and complemented with ‘grinded’ polished metal stripe.
- Rocket X emblem.
- Blackened exhaust, fly screen around the chrome ringed instruments
- black finished handlebars, mirrors, gears and brake levers
- Blackened 5-spoke aluminium alloy wheels with hand painted pinstripe
- The Rocket X badge at the oil tank is machined from a billet of solid aluminium for a premium finish.
Like what is becoming a norm these days, every Rocket X will get a side panel badging and a unique number to exude uniqueness. And by the way, Triumph intends to make only 500 units of this limited edition.
Regular Rocket III is priced at 21.29 Lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi and this must cost a little higher. Once we get an official Press Release or its pricing details, we will update this post.
