Triumph Bonneville T100 launched at Rs 7.78 lakhs

Triumph today has launched the new Bonneville T100 at a price tag of Rs 7.78 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Unveiled earlier this month at Intermot, the bike essentially borrows the heart from the entry level Street Twin. The appearance is the replica of the T120 which was launched earlier in India at the Auto Expo.

The new liquid cooled 900 cc parallel twin mill boasts of a 270-degree firing interval for a smooth and linear power delivery. The output stands at 55 PS of maximum power at 5,900 rpm and 80 Nm of peak torque at 3,230 rpm. Now all the numbers do sound good but is it worth it? You bet! Triumph claims that the torque is delivered at the optimum real-world riding range of 2,750 to 4,750 rpm.

Following the design philosophy of the classic 1959 Bonneville, the new T100 is a modern icon. Being a fan of the timeless Bonneville design philosophy, I love the way Triumph has evolved the brand without losing the old world charm. With the typical chrome and rounded headlamp, mated with modern tech like ABS, ride by wire and liquid cooling, the Bonneville remains an aspirational product.

The company rightfully says, the brand does not sell motorcycles, but dreams and aspirations to be a part of history. The bike also sports tyres specially developed by Pirelli.

The new Bonneville T100 will be available in three classically inspired paint schemes:

  • Intense Orange and New England White (with hand painted coach lines)
  • Jet Black
