Surprisingly, both the Bajaj motorcycles namely the Pulsar and Platina, despite witnessing a decline in sales, secured their place in the list
The combined sales of top 10 motorcycles in August 2026 stood at 9,27,578 units as compared to 8,81,874 units retailed during the same month last year. Hero Splendor continued as the highest-selling motorcycle as it accounted for over one-third of the total sales among the top 10 models. Both Royal Enfield motorcycles, namely the Classic 350 and Bullet 350, registered double-digit growth in August 2026. Bajaj Pulsar and Bajaj Platina, despite featuring in the list of top 10 motorcycles, posted negative growth last month.
Hero Splendor sales surged from 3,11,698 units in August 2025 to 3,53,842 units in August 2026 with a double-digit YoY growth of 14 percent. Honda Shine retained the second position with sales volumes touching 1,80,626 units. It too posted a decent double-digit growth of 10 percent as 1,63,963 units of the motorcycle were sold in August 2025. Similar to Hero Splendor, the Shine is also offered with multiple engine options in the form of 100cc and 125cc.
Bajaj Pulsar also held on to the third spot, albeit with a YoY de-growth of 11 percent. It posted sales of 97,839 in August 2026 as compared to 1,09,382 units sold during the same month last year. The Pulsar is available in four distinct model categories in the form of N, NS, RS, and Classic with engine options ranging from 125cc to 400cc. Bajaj retails a total of 11 motorcycles under the ‘Pulsar’ nameplate in the country, including the newly launched Pulsar N160 4V.

TVS Apache was dethroned from the fourth position by Hero HF Deluxe, despite witnessing a double-digit decline of 22 percent in YoY sales as retail volumes came down to 69,794 units in August 2026 from 89,762 units in August 2025. The Apache settled for the fifth position with a YoY growth of 22 percent as total sales stood at 55,123 units last month against 45,038 units in August 2025.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 occupied the sixth position as sales were up from 36,025 units in August 2025 to 43,428 units in August 2026 with a YoY growth of 21 percent. For the fifth month on the trot, two Royal Enfield models namely the Classic 350 and Bullet 350 featured in the list of the top 10 motorcycles in India. The Bullet 350 grabbed the ninth spot with 27,533 units as compared to 24,188 units in August 2025 with 14 percent YoY growth.
Honda CB Unicorn 150 was pushed to the eighth position by TVS Raider as it bagged the seventh position with sales of 37,002 units in August 2026. The Unicorn was at the eighth spot with a YoY growth of 21 percent in August 2026 as retail volumes touched 35,394 units last month against 29,274 units in August 2025. Bajaj Platina made it to the list despite the retail volumes going down from 39,110 units in August 2025 to 26,997 units in August 2026 with a healthy YoY de-growth of 31 percent.
