Honda Activa continued to dominate the Indian scooter market in June 2026, while TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta recorded strong year-on-year growth
India’s scooter market saw a strong month in June 2026. The top 10 best-selling models together recorded 6,36,315 units, marking a 38 per cent year-on-year increase over the 4,60,440 units sold during the same month last year. Honda Activa continued to lead the rankings, although the electric scooters are now making their presence felt.
The Activa recorded 2,18,932 units in June, registering a 19 per cent increase over the same month last year. Honda’s popular scooter alone accounted for more than a third of the total sales recorded by the top 10 models. The combination of reliability, fuel efficiency, resale value and Honda’s extensive service network continues to work in its favour.
The TVS Jupiter retained the second spot with 1,36,805 units, recording 27 per cent year-on-year growth. The Suzuki Access was third with 63,121 units, up 22 per cent over June 2025. While both scooters continue to rely on petrol engines, their strong performances show that demand for conventional scooters remains healthy despite the rapid growth of electric models.

| Rank | Model | June 2026 | June 2025 | YoY Growth |

| 5 | Bajaj Chetak | 40,376 | 17,864 | 126% |
| 6 | TVS Ntorq | 37,762 | 22,822 | 65% |
| 7 | Ather Rizta | 24,742 | 12,563 | 97% |
| 8 | Yamaha Ray | 22,782 | 14,274 | 60% |
| 9 | Suzuki Burgman | 22,454 | 15,733 | 43% |
| 10 | Hero Destini 125 | 22,010 | 20,140 | 9% |
The biggest jump came from the TVS iQube. The electric scooter recorded 47,331 units, representing a massive 232 per cent increase over the 14,244 units sold in June last year. The Bajaj Chetak also had a strong month, with 40,376 units and 126 per cent year-on-year growth. Both scooters have benefited from wider product ranges and increasing acceptance of electric mobility among Indian buyers.
The TVS Ntorq was the country’s best-selling sporty scooter after recording 37,762 units, up 65 per cent year-on-year. Ather’s family-focused Rizta also came close to doubling its volumes with 24,742 units, registering 97 per cent growth. The Yamaha Ray recorded 22,782 units, while the Suzuki Burgman Street followed closely with 22,454 units.

The Hero Destini 125 completed the top 10 with 22,010 units, registering a more modest 9 per cent year-on-year increase. The overall numbers, however, point to a clear trend. Petrol scooters continue to dominate the market, but electric models are growing at a much faster pace. They would probably not dethrone an ICE scooter in the coming months, but in a year or two, we could see that happening.
