We love to type this! Suzuki is getting aggressive and serious about the Indian market and after launches of fantastic Gixxer and Gixxer SF, they are venturing into motor sports! The company has officially announced the Gixxer Cup racing championship in India which will be held from next month and will continue till October 2015.
The championship has been divided in two categories
- ‘Novice’ for beginners
- ‘Open’ for seasoned riders
The Gixxer Cup will be held along with Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore as well as Madras Race Track in Chennai.
The most interesting bit is this – Suzuki will provide 20 race-prepped Gixxer SFs for 5 rounds of racing.

Suzuki also assures that these motorcycles will be backed by a dedicated pit crew to support all the riders. Company’s top Indian boss Atul Gupta says that with the Gixxer Cup, they want to showcase the might of their Gixxers and this will also provide an affordable platform to local riders who can hone their riding skills. So, after KTM and a few others we have Suzuki joining the bandwagon and we are loving it…!
