The Gixxer SF and the Gixxer 155 have been a major crowd pullers for Suzuki in India. The bikes not only got the cash registers ticking again but also received positive appreciation in international export markets. But wait, Indonesia is set to gain something new! Say hello to the GSX-R150 and GSX-S150.
One look at these motorcycles and you are surely going to be reminded of their counterpart in India. The fuel tank is a direct lift while the extensions add to the new look. Design inspirations can also be traced to the new GSX R1000 for the faired (and GSX R125), while the naked can be traced back to GSX-S1000.
The bikes gets a single cylinder 147.3 cc DOHC mill. Mated to the fuel injected motor is a 6-speed gearbox. Output figures have not been revealed, however, if rumours are to be believed, this one is set to produce 19.17 PS of maximum power and 14 Nm of peak torque. That’s not all, Suzuki has also kept the weight under check. The faired GSX-R150 has a dry weight of just 126 kg while the GSX-S150 weighs 127 kg (dry).
Features include:
- Key-less ignition
- LED headlamp
- Suzuki easy start system
- Petal disc brake
- LCD instrumentation
- Answer back function
- Dual emit exhaust muffler
- Lightest weight in class
Apart from this the GSX-S150 also gets a Shutter Key system. This is essentially a way of blocking access to the ignition slot, pretty much the way seen in the Honda Activa. The naked will be available in 4 paint schemes (Metallic Triton Blue, Ice Silver, Stronger Red/Triton Black and Matt Black).
Colour options for the GSX-R150 are 5 and include Metallic Triton Blue, Titan Black, Stronger Red/Triton Black, Matt Black and Brilliant White.
