Suzuki e Access will rival TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V2 and Ampere Nexus in the electric two-wheeler segment in India
Suzuki India unveiled its first-ever EV, the e Access, last month at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Being the brand’s first global electric scooter, it is expected to launch in the Indian market in the next couple of months. Suzuki e Access will rival TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V2 and Ampere Nexus in the domestic market. Based on the ICE-powered Access scooter, it comes with several premium features while powered by a fixed Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Suzuki e Access bookings are expected to start soon in India.
Suzuki e Access has been presented in three dual-tone colour schemes namely Metallic Mat Black No.2/ Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White/ Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray and Pearl Jade Green/ Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray. It flaunts a raised registration plate and metallic-finish chrome “S” emblem as standard design elements.
The electric scooter comes with three riding modes in the form of Eco, Ride A, and Ride B. In addition, there is a reverse mode as well. Suzuki has also introduced a keyless system which enables the riders to lock and unlock the e-scooter remotely through key fob. It also boasts of a multi-function starter switch for opening the seat, handle lock and charging inlet lid lock.
The e Access is the only electric scooter in its segment to get both center stand and side stand. Some other notable features on-board are side-stand interlock system and tip-over detection, colour TFT LCD screen, smartphone Bluetooth connectivity via Suzuki Ride Connect-E App, navigation and real-time traffic updates.
Suzuki e Access comes loaded with a 3.07 kWh LFP battery which is packed in a secure box integrated into the frame for extra protection. The e-scooter has max power of 5.5 bhp and peak torque of 15 Nm. It has a range of 95 km on a single charge while the top speed is rated at 71 kmph. Suzuki has also revealed that the e Access has an energy consumption rate of 39Wh/km.
The Access EV comes with home charging function as well as portable charger compatibility. The portable charger takes 6 hours and 42 minutes for a 0-100 percent charge while it can be fully charged in merely 2 hours 12 minutes using a fast charger. The Suzuki E-technology has been deployed in the EV drivetrain of the scooter.
