Suzuki achieved this production milestone in the 20th year of its operations in India as it started local production in 2006
Suzuki has achieved the production milestone of 10 million units in India. The company rolled out the 10 millionth two-wheeler from its Gurugram plant in the 20th year of its sales operations in the country. The 10 millionth unit was a Suzuki Access Ride Connect Edition. The Japanese brand produced the first 5 million two-wheelers in 2020. However, it took barely 6 years to add the next 5 million units. The brand started production in 2006 in the Indian market and as of now, it exports to 60+ international markets.
In order to commemorate the 10 million production milestone, Suzuki has announced multiple limited period offers on retail finance. The buyers can avail zero processing fee on loans or a waiver of last EMI. The company is also offering a complimentary 10-point vehicle check-up and 10% discount on labour charges and genuine accessories for all the new and existing customers.
Suzuki credits the Access 125 scooter for this momentous achievement as it is the Japanese brand’s highest-selling model till date in India. It was the first 125cc scooter to go on sale in our country. Today, Suzuki retails two more scooter models, besides the Access 125, in the form of Burgman and Avenis. The made-in-India motorcycle line-up includes the Gixxer range with 150cc and 250cc engines.

The motorcycles portfolio of Suzuki also has various other models such as V-Strom SX, GSX-8R, V-Strom 800 DE, and the Hayabusa. The company said that its future plan of action includes achieving carbon neutrality with the launch of the Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel and e-Access. While the former is Suzuki’s first E85 fuel-compliant motorcycle, the latter happens to be its first all-electric scooter.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Reaching the 10 million production mark is a significant achievement for all of us at SMIPL. This has been made possible by the trust and support of our customers, dealer partners, suppliers, and employees, who have stood with us throughout this journey. By expanding our product portfolio, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and focusing on quality and reliability, we have steadily scaled our operations in India.”

Suzuki has a wide dealership network in India with over 1200 touchpoints. The company is building its second production unit in India at Kharkhoda, Haryana. This new factory will further expand the overall production capacity of Suzuki. Suzuki e-Access is being locally developed at the Kharkhoda facility while likely to launch in the coming days.
