If you are planning of buying a new scooter then your quest is over. Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation announced the introduction of their 125cc scooter in Indian market. They would also be launching a new motorcycle in 150 cc segment along with their scooter soon with a total investment of Rs.700-crore.
Mr. Satya Sheel, Managing director of Suzuki Motors Pvt. Ltd. announced in a press conference that company has already invested Rs.350-crore and another Rs.150-crore would be spend on product development and marketing. He further said “we are planning to sell about 3.5lakhs units in India by 2010 which would be around 4 % of the total market share of two wheelers in India”.
Coming to the specifications, Suzuki Access 125 is a mid sized scooter designed specifically of Indian customers. It comes with 125cc, 4stroke engine, single cylinder, Air Cooled OHC, Automatic transmission and better fuel mileage which is very important if you want to attract Indian customers. The Access 125 will be available in 5 colors such as Red, Blue, Black, Grey and Silver.
Further Mr. Atul Gupta, Vice President (Sales and Marketing) said “We have launched our product with our strategy to enhance our product portfolio by offering riding experience to our customers. We have specifically designed our product by keeping Indian customers in mind”. He further added “Suzuki Access 125 is our first offering to India in non gear segment and we look forward to come up with more such products in India”.
Suzuki has already ruled out any sales tie-ups through Maruti. Suzuki also ruled out CNG variant in two wheelers as it’s not safe. Suzuki access has already been launched and is getting good feedbacks from people who have taken its test drive.
