Street 750 & 500 Recalled for Fuel Pump Issue; India Likely to be Affected as Well

Street 750 & 500 have faced yet another fuel related recall. India is likely to be affected as well.

Harley Davidson’s most affordable motorcycle duo – Street 750 and 500, have been recalled in Australia and Canada because of a fuel pump issue according to Motorcycle.com.

The faulty fuel pump has a poor quality seal on their fuel pump inlet which can interrupt fuel supply under sudden acceleration, specially when fuel level is below 3 liters. This erratic fuel delivery may cause abrupt gasp and leap in acceleration causing trouble to the rider specially in sudden maneuvers and may result in an eventual crash due to loss of control.

Affected Units

According to the report, Street 750 and 500 manufactured between Jan 20, 2014 to June 24, 2015 in Kansas City USA and Feb 24, 2014 to July 15, 2015 at Bawal India, the only two places they are manufactured in, have been affected by this recall. It should be duly noted that is different from the previous (but related) recall of Streets which had improper fuel cap seals.
