Hero is trying to harp on the super successful ‘Splendor’ & ‘Passion’ brands. They have officially launched the café racer version of Splendor! Yes, a sub 100cc café racer, a bike in which the speedo will never read 100 mph (160kmph)! The world surely is going mad.
Christened as the Splendor Pro Classic, it was first showcased at the Auto Expo this year. Splendor Pro Classic features the same air cooled, single cylinder OHC engine seen in the Splendor Pro but with a slightly tuned output. The 97.2 cc engine produces an increased 8.36 PS of power at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm.
The bike flaunts classic chrome parts which include front and rear fenders, winkers, suspension cover, and circular rear view mirrors. It also gets a classic retro styled single seat, round head light and tail light and a round speedometer. The bike is available at all Hero MotoCorp dealerships in the country for Rs 48,650 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Splendor Pro Classic is available in Solid Maroon and Carbon Black color options.
Hero has also made the Passion Pro TR available around the country. They claim that the Passion Pro TR is the country’s first 100cc on-off road motorcycle and also features the same 97.2 engine but with a lower output. The maximum power churned out is 7.8 PS at 7500 rpm and 8.04 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.
It gets sturdier handlebars with cross brace, high front fender with hugger, knee pad to stick your legs to the bike, grille protecting the head light, hand guards, different tire tread for enhanced grip, bash plate for protecting the engine, designer knuckle guard and fuel tank pads. The bike has been priced at Rs 51,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in Electric Red, Sports Red and Black with Sports Red. And yes, we call this mockery of motorcycle making!
