The custom-modified Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with advanced features, latest communication technology and emergency response mechanism
Bajaj Auto has unveiled a specially customized version of the Dominar 400 for the Police Force in the Indian market. The company recently handed over 100 units of this specially customized bike to the Pune Police for patrolling in and around its suburbs such as Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune Rural. The Police-spec Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with a PA system, emergency lights, and dual-channel ABS to carry out high-stakes operations. This is not the first instance of Police department opting for high-end, fully-equipped motorcycles as in the past too, various police forces have inducted such bikes in their fleet.
The 100 units of the custom-modified Dominar 400 were delivered in the presence of Mr. Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Pune, Mr. Vinay Choubey, Commissioner of Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Mr. Sandeep Gill, Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural. In addition, several other high-ranking civic officials such as Mr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Divisional Commissioner, Pune, Mr. Naval Kishor Ram, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation and Ms. Sheetal Teli, Sports Commissioner were present.
The handover ceremony was conducted at Pune Police Ground, Shivajinagar. These heavily modified bikes will also be a part of the official convoy for Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026 starting from 19-23 January while covering 437-km of its routes. This route will navigate through urban landscape and rural areas of 9 talukas and 150 villages.

The stock version of the Dominar 400 is locally manufactured by Bajaj at its Pune facility in Maharashtra. The company said that these specially modified motorcycles will help the Pune Police in rapid emergency response across the city’s diverse urban and rural terrains. The bikes are equipped with advanced features, latest communication technology and emergency response mechanism.
Some of the notable features of the custom-modified Bajaj Dominar 400 are LED Emergency Lights, Sirens, Public Address (PA) systems, Push-to-talk Radio Transmission, GPS Tracking System, and Emergency First Aid Kit. Furthermore, the bikes also boast of charging points for essential electronic equipment like mobile phones and walkie-talkies.

The specially customized Dominar 400 get integrated and lockable Side Panniers along with Top Box to carry essential gears such as first-aid kits, forensic tools, and documents. Powered by the 373.3cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine, it retains most of the features from the standard version in the form of Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control, and Electronic Suspension adjustment.
