Few weeks back, Simple Energy made a huge announcement sharing their latest development and update brought to their motor which will be utilised in their flagship scooter – Simple One.
The company explained that their updated motor will provide the much needed boost to its efficiency and thermal management. The company also added that the updated motor will provide the segment leading 72 Nm of torque and can facilitate a range upwards of 200 km.
Et voila, Simple Energy have brought the said updated motor equipped Simple One electric scooter as an option and claims that the top-end scooter will give a range of nearly 300 km. The company claims that the new motor offers 96% efficiency and produces 8.5 kW (11.4 HP). The new update has upped the torque output to class leading 72 Nm.
Newly updated Simple One electric scooter
Simple Energy have now differentiated their Simple One electric scooter into two variants – Single Battery and Double Battery. The single battery variant (capacity of 4.8 kW) is rated to deliver a range of 236 km (203 km real world range) in the Eco Mode. While the newly announced double battery variant (combined capacity of 6.4 kWh) claims a range upward of 300 km on a single charge.
In both the variants, the batteries are provided with the convenience to be able to be removed and charged away from the scooter at various locations. The Simple One now boasts acceleration numbers of 0-40 km/hr in 2.85 seconds instead of earlier 2.95 seconds. The top speed is still claimed to be 105 km/hr.
Availability and Pricing
Simple Energy have announced that both variants of Simple One electric scooter will commence their deliveries from the month of June 2022. The company also added that they have received nearly 30,000 bookings for their Simple One electric scooter till date.

The company has also introduced their Simple Loop charging facilities which is going to facilitate both home charging and charging at public locations. Simple Energy claims that their facilities will have the capacity to charge upto 2.5 km of range in just 60 seconds and will be spread across 300+ charging stations in next couple of months for which the company has collaborated with various shopping complexes, malls and restaurants.
