Samsung at an event in New Delhi launched their new smartphone Galaxy J3. At a price tag of Rs 8,990, the cellphone will be available exclusively at Snapdeal. Wondering why are you reading about a phone on BikeAdvice? Well, this phone has been developed specifically for bikers. In an industry first move, the South Korean cell phone maker says that the phone comes with an S bike mode which will help two-wheeler riders enjoy a worry free ride.
S BIKE MODE
You can place an NFC patch on the bike, say over the fuel tank and tap your phone on it just before riding. And voila, the S bike mode gets activated in a flash. Now if someone gives you a ring while you are riding, a pre recorded message will inform the caller that the rider is on a bike at the moment and cannot pick the call.
In case of an emergency the caller can press 1 which will allow the call to go through. A special high pitched ringtone has been developed for emergencies. During this, the rider cannot pick the call until and unless he or she comes to a stop with a motion sensor hindering the call from being answered.
The S bike mode also has a smart reply feature wherein the rider can select 5 contacts for an auto SMS with details about how soon the rider will reach a predestined location. Samsung is also running a contest wherein the customer can earn up to Rs 1,500 per month from Freecharge for being a responsible rider.
If you talk about specs, this 4G enabled device runs on Android Lollipop (5.1) and has a 1.5 Ghz Quad Core Processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. The battery is 2,600 mAh and the phone comes with an 8MP rear and 5 MP front camera. Internal memory is 8 gigabytes and can be expanded to 128 GB.
