Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 price is bang in the region of its rivals like Speed 400, HD X440 and Honda CB300R. The mid-size roadster segment just got hotter!
After impressing with its Himalayan 450, Royal Enfield has officially announced the launch of its second motorcycle on the same 450 platform and it is called Guerrilla 450. Unlike the ADV that the Himalayan is, Guerrilla is a roadster motorcycle that will compete with products like Triumph Speed 400, Honda CB300R, etc.
Guerrilla comes with the same 452 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that churns 40.02 PS of peak power at 8000 rpm and 40 Nm of very impressive torque at 5500 rpm. Yes, this is the same Sherpa engine that goes to the Himalayan and the numbers are identical as well. However, Royal Enfield informs that there are tuning differences for this new application.
The Guerrilla 450 comes with a similar overall frame as the Himalayan but it has also been modified in a few areas to give it that roadster character and form. At 169 mm the ground clearance has been significantly lowered and so has the very accessible 780 mm seat height – which should make it easily rideable for most Indian heights.
Fuel tank capacity has gone down from 17 liters to just 11 liters. This, and other factors have made the Guerrilla lighter than the Himalayan by 11 kilos – but at 185 kg, it is still on the heavier side for most of us.
Most Indian motorcycles of this size come with a 150 mm rear tyre, however, the Guerrilla 450 gets an even wider 160 mm rubber at the rear; make continues to be Ceat. Other key features include slip and assist clutch, 2 riding modes – Power and Eco, 43 mm telescopic front forks, 4 inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, etc.
