Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, the brand’s first-ever electric motorcycle, was unveiled to select media at an exclusive event in New Delhi
Royal Enfield had unveiled the Flying Flea electric sub-brand at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. The company had even showcased its first-ever electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, last year in Milan under the new EV brand. Now, it marked its debut in India at an exclusive event in New Delhi where it was parachuted into the event in true Flying Flea “Drop” style. Flying Flea C6 flaunts a retro styling while paying homage to the original World War II motorcycle that used to be airdropped in the north of France for soldiers.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is offered with a forged aluminum Girder fork as front suspension which is reminiscent of the original motorcycle from the 1940s. The contemporary version of this suspension has been redeveloped with modern materials. Just so you know, the Girder fork is quite different from the traditional telescopic forks as it subsidises flex under braking. The Flying Flea C6 is the only electric motorcycle in the market to feature this suspension setup.

Sitting on a forged aluminum frame, it is equipped with a magnesium battery case. The battery fins boast of a unique design pattern where the front fins are placed in odd sequences while the rear fins are arranged in even sequences. The C6, staying true to its retro character, comes with a high-resolution round touchscreen digital instrument console which again is a tribute to the original Flying Flea. The riders will have access to navigation and real-time vehicle diagnostics through the Flying Flea app.
Royal Enfield claims that the development of the electric motorcycle took place at the Flying Flea Tech Center with 200+ engineers from India and UK. The company has filed over 40 patent applications which include battery management systems, connectivity solutions and advanced motors. It is packed with premium features such as smartwatch connectivity through app, keyless riding, multiple ride modes, remote charging, over-the-air (OTA) updates and voice assist.

The Chennai-based two-wheeler brand has installed an in-house developed operating system at the heart of the C6, which is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QWM2290 processor. Developed specifically for two-wheelers, it offers connectivity via 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. This system features NXP’s cutting-edge microcontrollers for high-speed data processing.
Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer of Electric Vehicles at Royal Enfield, on the launch of Flying Flea: “Flying Flea is a bold new chapter in Royal Enfield’s legacy—an entirely new brand born from our deep heritage, and designed for the future. With the C6 and S6, we are not just introducing vehicles; we are introducing a feeling that riders have never experienced before. Developed within the innovative ‘Flying Flea Tech Center’, these machines integrate proprietary technology, cutting-edge software, and seamless connectivity.”
