Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 India Launch Before April 2026

Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 will be the Chennai-based brand’s first motorcycle in the 750cc segment in the Indian market

Royal Enfield, after having successfully dominated the middleweight (350-450cc) motorcycle segment, is working on a new portfolio of even bigger bikes in the 750cc category for the Indian market. A few months back, the new 750cc Royal Enfield motorcycle was spotted testing overseas and now our friends at AutoCar India report that the Continental GT-R is going to be the first big motorcycle in the 750cc segment from the Chennai-based brand. Being internally codenamed as R1E, it will be a fully-faired cafe-racer model which is likely to debut before April 2026.

Royal Enfield is developing a bigger 750cc engine from its tried-and-trusted 648cc twin-cylinder engine. While the power output and torque performance figures are not in public domain as of now, we expect them to be higher than the existing parallel-twin engine’s 47hp and 52.3Nm. Though, the highest torque is slightly increased in the Bear 650 due to its 2-into-1 exhaust. However, with the other five 650cc Royal Enfield motorcycles, these figures remain the same.

Royal Enfield Continental GT-R is expected to be heavier and more agile than the existing Continental GT 650. The equipment level will be premium as well with the inclusion of twin front disc brakes. It has been learnt that Royal Enfield will make it a high-performance model so that it can also be deployed in the Royal Enfield Continental GT cup.

The AutoCar report further reveals that the Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 will have its global premiere before FY26 ends, which means that the motorcycle will debut around April 2026. The two-wheeler brand is also readying the Himalayan 650 and it is believed to be in advanced stages of testing. Both these bikes could be showcased at the EICMA 2025 in November in Milan, Italy.

Royal Enfield 650 range starts from Rs 3.03 lakh with the Interceptor and goes as high as Rs 3.99 lakh for its flagship model, which is the Super Meteor. Hence, it could be rather challenging to position the Continental GT-R 750 in terms of pricing. In all likelihood, it will become the most expensive Royal Enfield motorcycle till date in the Indian market.

A few months back, Royal Enfield introduced the Flying Flea sub-brand for electric motorcycles. Under this new sub-brand, it even unveiled two new electric bikes namely Flying Flea C6 and Flying Flea S6. Both these e-motorcycles are believed to go on sale by late 2025 or early 2026 in our country. So, the next 12-18 months are going to be very exciting for Royal Enfield aficionados.
